Tangerang – Arief R Wismansyah, officially left his position as Mayor of Tangerang, and has been replaced by the Acting Mayor, Nurdin, who previously served as the Director of Decentralization of Assistance and Cooperation Tasks at the Directorate of Regional Administration Development of the Ministry of Home Affairs, on Tuesday, December 26, 2023.

The handover of the position was carried out at the Governor of Banten Province’s Pendopo Hall. After releasing and handing over his position, Arief and his bureaucratic partner Sachrudin were paraded by the City of Tangerang government officials starting from the exit gate of Kebon Nanas Toll Road, until they arrived at their residence on Sinar Hati Street, Tangerang, using an off-road Jeep CJ.

Upon arrival, Arief immediately hugged his parents, followed by Sachrudin. On that occasion, Arief expressed his gratitude for the support of the community, employees, and parents, during his leadership in the region that is known for its many services.

“I am grateful to the community, the employees, especially to my parents who have supported me. And I hope that in the future, we will continue to contribute the best for our city,” he said.

Asked about his next activities, especially regarding his rumored candidacy in the Banten Regional Election, this Democratic Party cadre stated that he has no intention of participating in the next democratic event.

“As for my next activities, I will help my younger brother, just being an ordinary person in the community, that’s what matters. And as for becoming the Governor of Banten, personally I have no intention,” he said.

Meanwhile, Arief also admitted that the current Acting Mayor of Tangerang is a figure with a lot of experience in leading the region.

“To the Acting Mayor, I hope you can continue what exists and innovate, and of course we will have much sharing in the future. The Acting Mayor is also not an ordinary figure because he has a lot of experience in leading the region,” he said.
