Jakarta – Candidate number 02 Prabowo Subianto expressed his gratitude for the arrival of his supporters at Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta, in the grand campaign event on Saturday afternoon titled “Pesta Rakyat” (People’s Party).
“We estimated that 200 thousand people came, but the report shows that nearly 600 thousand attended,” said Prabowo when opening his speech in the final campaign.
“I, along with Gibran and all members of the KIM (Koalisi Indonesia Maju/Indonesian Forward Coalition), express our highest appreciation for the sacrifice and presence of our brothers and sisters today,” Prabowo continued.
Prabowo mentioned that initially the grand campaign was planned to start at 3.00 PM. However, it was moved up to 2.00 PM because the supporters had already been present since the morning.
“Today’s event was supposed to have an official invitation at 3 o’clock, but I received reports that people have been standing here since 9 AM,” he said.
He also apologized to the people of Jakarta who were affected by traffic around Gelora Bung Karno due to the grand campaign of Prabowo-Gibran.
Not to be forgotten, Prabowo congratulated those who celebrate Isra Miraj in the Islamic faith and also wished a Happy Chinese New Year to the Chinese community.
Today also marks the last day of the presidential campaign period for the 2024 election. Therefore, the grand campaign at GBK is the closing event before entering the quiet period. (SENOPATI)
